Sanders Theatre is a historic performance venue located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Built in 1876 and modeled after the college chapels of the period, it is located on the campus of Harvard University and serves as a destination for some of Harvard's most prominent events. Despite its unique character, the exterior was not much changed until 1971 when major renovations occurred to prepare for a full-century celebration. With its distinctive acoustic design, marble recollections, and grand wooden beams, Sanders Theatre sets a beautiful scene for performances from world-renowned musicians, acclaimed speakers, and more. Able to seat about 900 people at one time with seating across three levels - two balconies and an orchestra level - this awe-inspiring space has blessed millions with memories that will last forever.
Cambridge, Massachusetts is a hidden gem of New England. Situated just across the Charles River from Boston, it offers its unique charm and set of attractions that make visiting worth your while. Take a trip through Harvard Yard for its iconic crimson brick buildings or peruse the boutiques in Harvard Square for vintage clothing, books, and records plus local specialty shops. With dozens of green spaces scattered around town, visitors can easily take advantage of Chelsea Creek Park for peaceful waterfront picnicking as well as more adventurous activities like canoeing and kayaking along both banks.
